Nikon 13-300mm f/1.0 VR Lens for only $99!

My first lens was Nikon's versatile 18-200mm VR lens, and I loved it... until I started getting faster 2.8 lenses and now I never even pull out this lens.
So I put all my new lenses back in their cases and popped this 18-200 back onto my D300 to see how it fairs. It's not as fast, but it's very versatile with such a wide focal range.
Is it even worth hanging onto? I think for its versatility, I might as well. Ken Rockwell swears if he was stuck with just one lens, this would be the one because of its wide focal options. I prefer the sharper images that my faster lenses provide, and I feel I should use them since I did pay an exotic price for them.
So do I sell my 18-200 or hang onto it?
It's my only DX lens, and I wont invest any more money into DX technology so when I get my full frame (Nikon, if you're reading this, please release the Nikon D3X) camera, all my lenses can take advantage of the FX (full frame) sensors.
Is it worth hanging onto all your lenses? A good glass collection is awesome, but is better to grow your collection or to improve it overall by trading up to better lenses?
Now, if only they would release a Nikon 13-300mm f/1.0 VR Lens for only $99!
