I have heard about devices that record the GPS coordinates of your location whenever you take a photo, and notice that the "info" for each of my photos has blank spaces for this information. I would like to know more about doing this (getting a GPS data-logger and using it), and wanted to know a couple things: Are they camera or memory-card specific? Both? Do they just decimate batteries, or only during really high-use? Price? Availability? Recommended brands? thanks everyone : ) michael |

You take pics like normal and then when you get home you upload them and then hook the GPS and run the included software. It uses the time stamp on the photos to figure out where you were and add the GPS coordinates to the EXIF. I'll post hte link when I'm not lazy. Which may not be till tomorrow. |

GPS photo-taggers? GPS geo-taggers....? etc.? ....the only one i've seen yet was way to cumbersome, it required you to remove memory card after every set of pics at a location, plug into GPS unit, it wrote data on pics, then memory card back into camera... sounds OK for an on-site shooting event, i.e. at the same building or whatnot, but horrible for, say, a motorcycle ride or nature pictures.. thanks michael | |
