Question camera equipment backpacks?

I'm very familiar with Tamrac bags - I have 2 of them and love them - but I need something else. Some of my bigger lenses just dont fit in the bags, doesnt matter if they are attached or not to my camera body.

What are you using as a backpack for your camera equipment?

Any recommendations when you go on a trip, and you want to pack one bag that has your camera and 4-6 lenses? Plus flash setup and battery? Should I even mention laptop? Dont forget power cables?

Oh man...

My Camera: D300 & D200

I just use the same thing you do.... Tamrac bag... If im traveling on the bike, i have larger crown royal sachels (i dont know how to spell that.) That I will wrap one in the body, and one in the lens, then just carry it in my tank bag if in the motorcycle. As for around town; they make larger cargo type bags that dont go around the shoulder, they are quite spendy, we both need one of those...... but I have not purchased one yet. No real need too at this point. Since my largest lens has a case the size of my normal Tamrac bag, and it has a shoulder strap. So at this point im just carrying two things on my shoulder instead of 1 at the moment. BUt the crown royal bag trick is pretty cool

Camera cases by Pelican - carrying - shipping - waterproof

I kinda dig these cases by Pelican. Custom foam padding, water/air tight, hard sided, etc. Larger ones seem good for stuffing a bunch of stuff into for transport in the car, or as checked baggage for airline travel...not so good on a motorbike when size DOES matter.

You could always carry two bags; a large back pack for laptop, long lenses, and less frequently used items, and a shoulder bag for quick draw shots and things you need quick access to. I don't know...I've now got three lenses, power cables, charger, filters, assorted caps, and NO gear bag. I might have to rectify that soon...

Pelican cases = the best

i've been a fan for a long time my kit lens and camera fit in my tank bag on my bike for longer rides with a cam, the big black guy fits both of my lenses, body, charger and cords and is less than half full! they're a bit heavy, but these things are fucking waterproof and basically INDESTRUCTABLE. lock em up and your shit is inpenetrable. class A badass and an awesome (albeit spendy) purchase
