Messing around with a few macro shots, but mostly because I dont wanna bring my other nikon and/or lenses on a bike anymore. Too much risk. This thing was the thinnest nikon ever made a year ago. I have no idea if its the thinnest now (not that I care) but it had a pretty good review. They just said make sure not to drop it even once. I hear they're pretty delicate. I always seem to find a way to break point/shoots. So we'll see.

| Administrator | I need a point and shoot just to be able to toss into my jacket or tank bag when I dont feel like bringing my camera with me to places. But a decent point and shoot, like this Nikon S1, is in the $350+ category. For that kind of money, that's a chunk of change that can go toward a new lens. I was checking out Will's Nikon D60 the other day, and love it - the size is way smaller than my camera and my lenses would work, and the portability would be much better - but it takes a whole different kind of battery and I dont want to invest into anymore Lithium Ion batteries. I have extra 3E's and the 4 series is where things are going, so I finally gave up.

there ARE other camera companies out there. you don't HAVE to buy only nikon products. no one (except maybe eric) will think less of you for buying another brand of p&s. and you don't HAVE to get the latest and greatest. really. you're going to have to trust me on that one. but if you're so concerned with it, you could always debadge it and put nikon stickers all over it anyway. | |
