ExpoDisc White Balance Filter

Anybody have experience with this device? Seems a little expensive to me. Would grey/white cards be just as effective for setting white balance? Still trying to learn all this digital stuff....had a lot of experience with film years ago.
I've only been a member for a short time and have really enjoyed looking at everybody's work and have learned a lot from the Posts.

i'd just buy a grey card.
