My Camera: must take pretty pictures

Low Key

Critique?

One of my attempts with low key lighting

Original if you want to try cooking it differently:

I like the shot, I like the edit too except i think her skin looks a little too orange.

I need to try take portraits, I've never really tried before. What was the lighting setup like?

For this session, 3 strobes: 2x 500w/s and one 600 w/s
1 500 used above
other strobes up front on each side.

For this particular shot, only the overhead strobe was used with no diffusion.

Jayt those are good if you could match the skin color it would be a keeper (Mag quality) the first one the hotspots are distracting

Since youve got the lighting keep your computer with you and load the pics on to it so you can find out where you need the diffuser where you might need more light and be able to adapt those changes almost immediately

The skin in the second pic has a good tone but in the first the hair pops and has that silky look that is good for marketing

My Camera: disposable

all i can say is that the lighting is a tad harsh. may have benefited from putting a reflector somewhere in front or a really, really low flash just to soften the edges of the shadows a little (ie under her nose, creases in face). may also have helped with the weird shadow created on her shoulder.
