Whats wrong here?

The background looks really grainy. How do I go about eliminating this.

My Camera: must take pretty pictures

The higher the ISO, the more grain you will get. Pic was taken at 200. Next time, use 100.

As for this pic, try noise reduction software such as noise ninja.

is you camera set to auto iso?
because its indoors and its a little dark inside the house so the iso will be automatically set heigher,

Yeah it was set to auto. What really sux tho is that after really studying the photo I notice that a have a pixel going out :( Looks like I have to send my camera in for repairs.

i paid 170$ insurance to bestbuy when i bought 40d, covers accidental damages, free battery for a year free cleaning no additional fees. covers it for four years.

good for taking the camera on rides.

This is going to be covered under warranty I haven't even had my camera 3 months yet.
