Portraits for a friend

Took the opportunity to take some photos for my friend Kristan while she was in the country. Thought I would share a few.

Jeez, I posted in this thread but obviously forgot to hit "Post" after the preview. Senility sucks!

Anyway, I like these. I really like #3, 4 & the last one. You might lighten just her face a bit in the last one and straighten the horizon in #3 though.

My Camera: disposable

for the dark ones - the ones with all the heavy shadows - experiment with a fill flash in the future. ie 5, 6, and 8.

8 could've benefited a lot with some kind of fill light, whether it's with a flash or a reflector.

one of 'ems blurry.

nice attempts.

My Camera: Konica/Minolta Maxxum 7D

I like the last one the best, followed by the 5th one.

I think the reason I like the last one is that it's the only one where you can see her eyes. I always thought that the eyes really help to make a portrait. The only thing I'd do differently on the last one is to reflect a little more light into it, or use a touch of fill-flash to bring the side of the face out of the deep shadow a little more.
