Few Pic's from last weeks gig.

Was shooting video for Montblanc "Signature for good" event at Paramount studios. Here's a few of the pics I grabbed.
Shot with the D3 and a 105mm 2.8 lens.

I like the B&W conversion.
More to come.

C&C Welcome.

you're a poo face.

very cool opp. nice shots, too. curious to see what the colors were.

the contrast is nice, but i like how the tones in #7 make the image look like something out of the 50's.

Thanks.
I was trying to go for that old Hollywood look, but I also love high contrast, so I was torn between the style.

Here is a couple of the same shots in color, plus a group shot.

This one caught a little flash to screw up the white balance.

Yea, it was fun, but the main reason it was good was I was working.
When I lived down there I did these every week, but now that I live up here it's hard to get these little 4 day shoots.
I have been making calls to get back into the rotation in Hollywood gigs instead of just the corporate gigs that run a week to 10 day's.

that's cool...

you mentioned you used to do these kind of gigs, how have things changed from then till now - since you're obviously using different photography equipment?

Before I really didn't shoot stills, and If I did it was with film obviously, and it was only pics of setting up and control area's and the over all look.
Now with my camera in live view and instant review for correct exposure adjustment I shoot all the time.

Plus, most all the shows I do now either Corporate or entertainment it's all shot with HD camera's and associated gear, ie: switchers, monitors, projectors, digital hard drive playback instead of tape.
For me the best part is when I'm running video camera's in HD, the monitors are the best for focus besides being color.

I mean you could by color monitors for shooting video in the past, but the pixelazation really made it hard to focus, but the new ones are soooo sweet.
Only down fall is the cost $15,000.00 for a 7" HD monitor!

Here's a pic of one of those monitors on a camera at a music shoot we did at the Kodak.
you can see the performers in the screen, and out of focus on stage above the monitor.
