My Camera: Canon S5 and 50D
Canon 50D vs. 40D

So I've finally gotten myself into the situation where I can buy a new camera body. I've been researching a ton and beginning to question the price difference between the 50D and the 40D.

So those of you with the 40D, why didn't you upgrade to a 50D?

If you have a 50D (and used to use a 40D), was it worth the extra money?

I have a 40D and have decided not to upgrade to the 50D. Mainly because the image quality is about equal between the two cameras, and I would rather spend that money on good glass than a new body. The glass will always be with you, whereas the bodies change quite frequently. With that said, since you're in the market to buy a new DSLR and your choices are between the 40D and the 50D, go with the 50D. The reason I say this is because of the extra resolution you get for one. A couple other reasons are that the 50D supports UDMA for file writes, and my favorite feature is micro focus. The micro focus will allow you calibrate your autofocus for every lens you own, AND it will remember the settings for that lens whenever you attach it to the body.
