Computer Issue

I have a 5D mark ii and until this last week my hp laptop running Vista has had no issues downloading the pictures. Now, even it i try to download the pictures off of a card reader or the camera my computer just times out. My home pc (it is an hp with vista too) is having no problems reading the cards. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I should look for on my laptop?

That's great news - my HP is on it's last legs and I was almost to the point of getting a new one. Maybe I'll wait till the new upgrade - I'd hate to get one now only to buy an expensive problem.
