I find them a pain in the butt to photograph, but my wife seems to have a knack for it. Here's a couple at my daughters soccer practice that she took.

Any tips?

ill comment on this because i've gotten fairly decent at shooting my daughter... you have to just turn them loose and take mostly candid photos of them playing or doing whatever it is they do. i would definitely focus a little more on how you frame them in the photos. all 3 of your pictures aren't really doing anything for me. they just look randomly snapped with lack of care for the final presentation. maybe with kids you have to really focus on getting the shot you have planned instead of more care-free style of shooting. i know when i do it, there is a purpose. i know what i'm wanting in the shot.

yea my main advice is just "shoot with a purpose". that's all that i do and i am always pleased with the results. and obviously the settings you use depending on the light will make a difference. a faster shutter speed is ideal because they move so much.

i'd have to agree with the #1 Dad. Most of my "best" shots of my daughter are almost always candid. I can hardly ever get her to pose, and when she does...it looks "posed". my subjective opinion is that kids, like animals, are best captured in their natural state...wild!
