Run down/abandoned/derlict buildings

So I've always been interested in photography in abandoned buildings, and I've taken some myself in some abandoned barns and whatnot along the side of the road occasionally, but I'm looking for some more areas like this locally (most of the places I've been to are in Eastern Washington, quite a drive). Specifically, anywhere specific in Tacoma or Seattle would be perfect. I live in the Bothell area, so a lot of the places I've heard about in Eastern Washington or Bellingham and whatnot are too far to drive, but I could manage pretty much anywhere in Seattle or Tacoma. I'm just not very familiar with either area, so I don't know of any specific buildings/areas.

In the Kittitas Valley around Ellensburg or the town of Kittitas should have some pretty good areas. There's lots of old barns etc there. I know there is a good old farmstead on the road from Eburg to Yakima over the Wenas Rd (?).

Here's one of mine from that area.

Just one word of warning - snakes!

Hm...it's a 2 hour drive to Ellensburg and another 40 minutes to the homestead you're talking about (to Wenas Rd., at least), but if there were a few spots along the way it'd be worth it, I suppose.

And hey, I can deal with some snakes. Scorpions, too! I'm always up for a little wildlife photography

There are some places between Cle Elum and Eburg along hwy 10. I'm at a lost locally. I wish I could help you more - I love old barns etc. A friend took us out to this place a year ago and it was great. Unfortunately it was along the Columbia River north of Wenatchee. I liked the colors so I take change it to b&w.

Well yeah!!! Pretty agricultural over there.

I remember as a kid I grew up for a while on Waller road in Puyallup, and there was a neat old barn along the road somewheres. North of Waller road elementary if I remember right. Not sure if it is abandoned though. Go check it out!

Ciao

dont know if OP will ever check this again... however... there's this abandoned concrete factory in Concrete Washington... Off Highway 2, exit 230 on I-5... after that its another 40 minutes to Concrete but DAMN is it worth the drive... 3 stories... and falling apart... for exact directions just ask any local teen you see downtown... I dont have pictures of the building itself... though it is quite impressive... but here are a few photos from the shoot I took there

Ooh, Photohog I love that first of yours. Great building and well worth the snakes! I could spend quite some time there. I actually like snakes so I'd probably spend some time looking for them too.
