you have an SD card slot right? I believe so........ if you do, yep it works.

Well there is a separation from SD and SDHC... and some 'SD Compliant' devices won't even use the 2GB cards. I just picked up a SanDisk 4GB for my D40 and it seems to work but it's worth asking if anyone's used it in case the controller in the D40 doesn't work with it.

My Camera: is brand new
Nikon USA lists SDHC as a storage media for the D40.
