The Beginner's Corner section of the forum is for novice photographers who have basic questions. Lend a hand and help each other out, as we all had to start out and learn from the beginning.
When you post up a question, try to include as many details as possible. If it's about your camera, tell us what make and model you have, etc. Just as it goes throughout the forum, no brand bashing - all camera makes and models are welcome here! |

Got my cam last November. New to DSLRs and more serious photography in general. I guess the green idiot box works well, but moving on to P, A, and S modes is the next step in my learning process. I bow down to ppl using full manual.
There's ton of info out there, and hopefully, some great insight to be had here. "Just take lotsa pics," I'm being told, and, most important: "Have FUN!" Peace, el |

i would get a D40 instead for $400-ish. put that $200 towards other equipment. you will want a tripod, extra battery, and grow old of you built-in flash very quickly.

I'm not exactly new to photography but I am an absolute beginner when it comes to digital! I'm sure I will have lots of questions down the road. I did take Photo 101, B&W beginning photography last fall and I LOVED it. But, I have an AMAZING husband who bought me a Nikon D80 and I really want to learn to shoot digital, I would hate to see that camera go to waste.
I'm pretty excited about posting a few pics and getting some feedback so I am out of here! Much Love |

I just got my first SLR camera!! I got the Canon Rebel XS. I love it!! I am just trying to go over all I know and learn even more.
