Engagement Photos - My 3rd Photo Shoot
Well, I'm getting more and more practice. I've been back from sea for about 2 1/2 weeks now, and a guy on my boat wanted me to take his and his girl's engagement photos, having liked some of my previous works I showed him. He also invited me to his wedding to shoot. They have hired a photographer, but spoke to him and he is cool with me going to shoot and totally supports someone trying to build their portfolio, but just asks that I don't take pictures of his set poses. And believe me, I'm totally cool with that.
I digress. So, here are the first 5 of the engagement photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Black and color can be a bitch
(the green in your first one is a distraction) What i do to aid is 1 Blow it up 130-150% then you can be more careful 2 magic wand will isolate the areas you want to process 3 use History erase brush to expose the color from your converted black and white *Note HEB will not work until you flatten or merge the layer 4 change the brush size with right click (big for isolated areas small for fine details) On your second pic i love the hands and id suggest color all the leaves in the background or none Very well done on the composition |
