My Camera: Nikon Point Shoot
I just bought a handful of ND and polarizers for various lenses, should be fun to re-learn how to shoot with them Now i just need a better tripod. :/

Awesome shots!

ND= Neutral Density (darkens everything)
CP= Circular Polarizer (makes reflections from certain angles disappear)

also
GD= Graduated Density or Gradiant (darker on one side than the other, used for landscapes mostly)

so does the ND act to 'unbrighten' such long exposures?

it's like putting shades on the front of the camera.

it sort of acts to 'unbrighten' the long exposures, but basically it allows less light into the lens, which in turn, allows for longer exposures and wider apertures. there's some more subtle advantages, too, like saturating colors and balancing out contrast.
