Asia Music Video shoot

So This was the 12th one of these I have done in the last 6 years.
This one was at the Long Beach Terrace theater.

I never have had the ability to shoot still's as I am running a center of house long lens camera. 48 songs and 4 comedy act's in 12hrs of straight shooting, all in HD. Funny thing is, the whole show from end to end is in Vietnamese.

This time I set up the D3 with the 50mm 1.8 next to my camera and would just reach over when I could and click off a few.
Sure wish I could have had the long lens to shoot it properly.

Set the camera in auto ISO, Shutter speed between 1/60 and 1/125 @ f2.8
ISO ranged between 200 and 1250, depending on the center weight metering.
Then set compensation to -2 stops to count for the spot lights.

And yes, I did think about calling you Daniel, just didn't think you would want to sleep on my buddies couch.

Here's a 100% crop of the above image.

You could have came to this one, but it's a ticket to L.A. OH, and I will need a copy of that photo tracking software I pm'd you about months ago

They do at least 2 of these a year. I will let you know when the next one is.
The Production manager is a friend of mine.
In fact, he wants me to get info on all the theaters up here so they can do one here in the Seattle area. I have just been to lazy to call all the theaters in Seattle and get union and rental rates for a week.

The Guy that front's these makes around 5 mill. per DVD!
He's made so much money he built his own Network in L.A. for the vietnamese community.

Yeah, that project has been on the backburner. I'm actually going to dedicate the better part of my Thanksgiving Day just working on. It can take one photo and find matches and similiar matches across the web, but I dont think the program is useful unless it can do a folder or group of pictures, and then I want to create a SmugMug plugin and I havent even started to look at SmugMug's API's... so it's super beta right now. But yeah, all day Thanksgiving is me working on it.

We should get together soon, for coffee even, and you can check it out.

Don't buy that coffee bit Kirk. Daniel often suggests coffee but he doesn't actually want to meet anyone for coffee. He used to, back in the day...

But not now.

Thanks.
I always shoot RAW, that's part of it. Plus there's alot of great lighting on this show, that's do to the LD, Lighting Designer, and a shit load of varilights.

Screen is a double stacked Barco XLM HD30 projectors being feed with a catalyst system, so it is bright, like 60,000 lumens bight

Hey, I totaly understand. we all used to do stuff, when we where younger, had more time, less responsibility's.
Hell, I still have all your RAW's

I wish we could do photo safari's every week, someone set's up a low-cal, post it, and bam! we show and shoot and share and party after wards at a local watering hole.

Im no better, I want to go shoot right now, but have no baby sitter contact's, AT ALL.
I may just take them to NW trek so I can shoot something

Anyone fish? Im going to the hump saturday with some buds, then for clams on the coast after fishing if anyone is interested.

"Without a trace" is my favorite. Great director on this one.
