framing, angles, and shot setup help?
A: I know I should have gotten the top of the pole, but I think I should have put the horizon towards the middle, and maybe centered the ferry docks.
![]() B: center? level? yes and yes. agree? ![]() C: maybe a bit more center on the bird, but otherwise, I like it... wish I knew how to make it focus on the rocks *and* the bird/railing... maybe less poop next time too. ![]() So, I'm a hella noob and want to know what you think of my photos, and my self critique. Thanks in advance.

If you use a higher aperture, and slower shutter speed, it will give you better depth of field, and get a better range of things in focus. Hope that helps. |

the poop directly under the bird is awesome. since it's old poop. and you could call it the poop deck.
do you have a manual setting on the camera? i forgot what you picked up, but i remember it's a nikon cause canon's break all the time. but, it should have some settings you can toy with in manual to adjust the focus and possible a manual focus as well (one of my p&s has it) *sigh* not like you have what camera you're using underneath your avatar...dammit. i suck. ya, it's ok sarah.
quit stalking me (but not really, because I like it) also, as far as I know, there are no manual focuses on my camera. there are some other settings that I haven't figured out exactly wtf they do....which is what I intend to figure out as soon as I can find some "free time" (werk sux) |

Just by following these guidelines, a LOT of photos can be made more pleasing to the eye. Try cropping some of these using the Rule of Thirds and see what you come up with.

in my office parking lot at night, tonight:
It's the only shot that I actually thought about how I was shooting, and, strangely, its the one I like the best! (strange how that works)
