My Camera: Canon EOS Rebel XTi

Northwest Regional Schuetzen Championship

Nothing special, but thought I'd share.

The bowling ball canon to start the event, lol

Some shooters

Zeiss anyone?

Recoil

Grandpa(not mine, everyone just calls him grandpa)

And, dad. Mine

The range, a 200 yard wind tunnel

Took some B&W's for giggles.

Love this one, fitting.

And the grand champion Dave Purcel. Kicked everyones butt young and old

Was a fun time, we had people from Calgary and Edmonton to the north, and Salt Lake and Sacramento to the south and everywhere in between show up.

In the Canada vs USA match the US won by a mere 26 points out of a possible 88,000(approx). The closest competition ever in this match between the 2 countries.

Hope you enjoy, thanks for letting me share...........JOhn

Hey Daniel, this shoot is shot once a year in may.

However if you would like some good/interesting photography opportunities, there is a match every year up by chinook pass. And I beleive it is in June.

It's a wee bit different than that match in Spokane I posted.

It is truly a time warp back to the 19th century. People shoot old old, muzzle loading black powder rifles, picket rifles, reproduction rifles. Some still have the old original boars hair front sights.

Many of the people dress in the appropriate garb for the day, and camp out. They also have a dutch oven cooking contest.

If you'd like more info, let me know. I doubt I will be able to go myself however...................JOhn
